A new study by the National Academy of Science explored the places that strangers feel comfortable being touch … and NOT being touched. When meeting someone, the best bet is to simply shake hands. Heads, hips, and even backs are often viewed as taboo zones. While some cultures are open to more touching than others – hello Russians and Finns – others like the British would rather go for the handshake or nothing at all.
